Diabetic women might be very aware that
aerobic exercise is one of the best things they can do to control blood
sugar level and reduce the risk of heart disease.
But if you or someone you know is diabetic,
ask your doctor about the benefits of weight training as well. Some
studies have shown that building muscle mass can help in the control
of diabetes.
However, since diabetics may also be prone
to high blood pressure and exercise can cause variations in blood sugar
levels, getting your doctor's okay before initiating a new exercise
program is an absolute must.
